1:55from homelessness in prison to achieving recognition in F Forbes and it serves as
2:01a testament to his resilience and Triumph you really have had quite the journey Robert haven’t you can you tell
2:07us interesting it’s been interesting could you could you bring it to life a little bit for us your journey
2:13so far well to be honest with you I I never thought my journey would be where
2:18it’s at today I mean uh to be recognized worldwide to be world renown was never
2:25my goal my goal was to share my passion and not worry about the money because I learned early in the game that when I
2:33start worrying about the money oh man I got to pay this bill I got to pay that bill all I’m doing is attracting more
2:38bills right so when I listen to the thepoon hill uh the secret um and all
2:45these different things that really helped me adjust my thoughts um it allowed me to
2:52see that the whole difference is that not to worry about the money now what
2:58really really really really really helped me with it is two things one was I end up going to an
3:05event where a guy I’m gonna say smell like pig you know what I mean like he smart like he was just on a farm and
3:11he sitting beside me I thought okay well this gonna be my first client and I’m I’m new to the coaching field it’s gonna be my first client we talked we sat
3:18there and did anything I didn’t really get to know him too much it was my mistake I was new I was fresh I was
3:23green went from there next you know I said listen you got Facebook he said yes
3:29and then we went from there we connected later and then I realized that I’m not going to be able to coach this guy and
3:35the reason for that is is because he was the operations manager of thick and Grow Rich and I thought to myself well this
3:43is embarrassing I said to myself said this is embarrassing I said I thought you were a bum or something uh that was
3:48just coming in I was goingon to be able to coach you man did he started laughing he goes he goes it’s amazing how First
3:54Impressions happen and then then he started talking to me about how much money do you have in the bank are you
4:00able to pay the $2,800 up front I said no I can’t I said because I only had
4:05$1,400 on the bank no$ 2100 in the bank he won 1,400 of it that day and I’m
4:12thinking well how am I gonna pay my bills how am I gonna pay my bills how am I gonna pay my bills I got rent next week I got this I got that next thing
4:18you know he says listen you have a choice he says I’m not I’m not gonna sit there and you know work with you if you’re not going to pay me but you have
4:25a choice he says if you pay me I’ll show you how to make that money and you can earn that money before the next rent
4:32period or whatever it may be before your next Bills come out he says you’ll still have 600 bucks to play with if that
4:38helps to pay certain bills your car payment whatever I’m thinking to myself well you take that chance I mean I’ve
4:44heard this before yeah you know I mean being an excon artist myself I’ve heard
4:50this before and then all of a sudden I for some reason I took the chance within that two week period I end up making 17
4:56grand wow so he taught me that my passion had to come out that not to
5:02worry focus on those bills that work work on this passion and let people see what I’m all about give a solution to a
5:08problem and things will happen I love that it’s it’s so true isn’t it if we if we focus on who we’re
5:15serving and how we’re serving them rather than what we need um first then
5:21that’s when the doors of opportunity just seem to fly open don’t they and you end meeting people going how do I meet
5:27you uh I got something there Daya blew my mind I never even knew
5:32existed um I’m sure You’ seen it around uh it’s right here in my hand actually I
5:38show you it’s from uh Forbes Business Awards Legends of coaching Award
5:43presented to Robert J Moore love it I’d never even knew it existed you know I
5:48mean like I got numerous Awards I got fours up there gu World Records all the awards across here you know like it’s
5:55not to me it’s not about brager rights because if it was brager rights you’d see my credentials up there yeah and a
6:01lot of people don’t even know what my credentials are because I don’t tell them what I do is I utilize all the credentials I have and try and bury it
6:08inside me try and find out why I was the of the person I was see the thing is a lot of people don’t know my
6:13past I was 17 years in a prison I was working for the bikers and the mafia
6:19right and then went from there and and you know I got a bad reputation from doing that I was a drug addict alcoholic
6:24at the same time I’m going on 19 years clean sober this year I mean like and
6:29then I changed my whole body around and looked at okay I want education well during that education I become addicted
6:36to education become addicted to learning to figure out who I was not not to put something on the wall and say hey look I
6:42got another one I got another one I got another one so here’s what here’s what I got Social Service work a diploma addictions degree ba psychology Masters
6:50in counseling psychology harm reduction Mental Health crisis and two honor doctor degrees I didn’t do that to
6:55impress anybody I did that to find out why my behavior was acting the way it
7:00was in order to affect other people so once I started figuring that out then I
7:06started saying okay well now I’m doing that I’ve learned that oh wow I could
7:11start reading people now you know I mean so I started being able to read people how they’re how they artificial you know
7:17expectations are and everything else the way the body structure is the physiology of the face you know I start reading the
7:23tone and everything else it was just really weird how it just came out so
7:28yeah it was really been quite the journey to start that way and to be able to put your passion out there in order
7:34to build people up I love that but it sounds like a large part of your journey
7:39was around that introspection first so how do I better myself I mean because I
7:46mean I was a collector right I mean I here was a collector I mean you don’t want to get involved with people like
7:51even even in the business I just had that now I’m 18 years cleaning so I’m going on 18 doesn’t mean the thinking
7:57goes away the ACT have to go away now the thinking now check this out I had
8:03people like I own a inh home business for daycare right for for ales right for
8:08Home Care not daycare daycare is young kids Pardon Me Home Care um and like a
8:1492 year old old be six grand I’m thinking well how do I collect that six grand and back in the day it would be
8:20like you just go kick in the door and put the shotgun to the guy’s face you get your six grand in a hell of a hurry
8:25but it’s like what am I thinking why am I talking like that I mean like that doesn’t work you can’t
8:31go around breaking legs for for six grand and you know you take them to court or or whatever right or talk to
8:37the family they always paid they always paid it’s just gotta remember that if
8:42they’re elderly people that they don’t pay on time you know you talk to their family
8:48and they always paid good business I was making about 50k a month but I found the
8:54business wasn’t me yeah but the thing is when I see I was with Magnetic entrepreneur I built
9:00that up to millions and millions and millions and I decided to sell that because I just wanted away from the the
9:06coaching away from the publishing away from everything for a while that’s the only reason why I
9:12bought this other franchise with with the elderly I did that for six months
9:17right it was really good job I was really structured 33 people underneath me you know and I just recently sold
9:23that two weeks ago and the reason why I decided to go back to coaching is is because people kept calling me up sit
9:30saying oh I need your help I need your help I need your help plus theyi and Grow Rich the CEO asked to sit down and
9:35have a lunch with me c t Verma and I said yeah not a problem bro I said just’s do it so we sat down at lunch and
9:41he says i’ like to certify you as a coach I said wow that’s that’s an honor right there and then Arma Mo the top
9:48strategist in the world I rehired him for another year and uh so I got two of the top coaches in the world right now
9:55that are willing to bring me to another level because they already know the level was already at but uh at this
10:02point in time you start a brand new company now you have to get yourself out there again yeah you know I mean so you
10:08got to utilize what you already know and utilize what you have to bring it to the for Forefront of the new one and then at
10:14the same time you gotta still utilize the person still got to utilize your name to build their company because
10:20magntic entrepreneur still has to live through someone else now I love that so what would you I
10:27you’ve done so many things and you you’ve done so much learning about yourself to be able
10:32to learn about others what would you say has been the greatest lesson you’ve learned so far the greatest lesson to
10:38learn is the fact of you can sit down long enough to listen to someone else’s thoughts and allow them to digest their
10:46stuff and when when I see them understand and put that little smile on
10:51their face it it’s settling it’s settling it’s okay right I’m on the right path you I mean I can’t help
10:58everybody I I I honestly can’t you know like I’ll say one thing one way you’ll say it another way and you might be able to be
11:04the one helping them I don’t know it depends on how they take it depends on how you say it you know what I mean it
11:10just depends on some people’s The Voice maybe maybe some people don’t like certain people’s voices maybe I I’m I’m
11:17the kind of guy I’m a straight shooter and uh a lot of people don’t like that they’re scared of that because they’re
11:22scared of hear the truth I don’t give too flying shits about their emotions I don’t I care about their business when
11:28they’re working with me they don’t hire me to be a babysitter for their motions we’ll work on that later you
11:34know what I mean like I I work on that through my certificate program the emotions the boundaries and everything
11:39else with that and then I build them up as the coach that they’re supposed to be and then the marketing part comes in and
11:45then they build the structure and the foundation of their business and then climb up from there that’s a year-long certification program I have but the
11:52reason why I do it that way is just because if you don’t know you how you going to grow yeah you know I mean a lot
11:59of people don’t know the structure or Foundation either no and if you don’t know yourself how can you hope to know
12:05anybody else because you if you can’t if you can’t do the introspection and sit
12:11with the whole of you the the light and the dark
12:17and understand it and and and be accountable for it then actually you
12:24halt your growth don’t you and if you holdt your growth you hold the impact that you’re on other people here here’s
12:29the biggest thing here’s the biggest thing I tell people oh you’re a coach
12:36big deal there’s a 100,000 of them in your area what makes me different from the other coaches for
12:43one I I’m I’m me I don’t go by the box I don’t go by what they do I’m an outside
12:49box thinker I I drill my stuff into when I do one-on-one I work on you I don’t
12:54put you uh don’t put my expectations on what you’re supposed to do I look can’t sit there and say okay your body
13:00language and that I want to know where you want to go with it this is where you’re comfortable with your own self this is where you’re comfortable doing
13:06your own job right this way you’re comfortable at growing your own business and learning your own business and then
13:13teaching the people the right way to handle that instead of I you how many coaches I went to and said no no no
13:19you’re doing it the wrong way you have to do it this way well I don’t like that way I don’t like it that way you know
13:25what I mean they don’t explain to you why they have to do it that way I explain to people
13:30why I might tell people look it’s best you do it this way or that way but the thing is I give them a
13:36choice I don’t tell them what to do I give them a choice and if you look at my reputation I might have helped over
13:41200,000 people and I I got a good reputation of there if you Google my name Robert J Moore I come up all over
13:47the place you know and that’s this is coming from a guy living from the streets seven years on the streets inting at the prison you know to where I
13:54am today and that’s not a bragging right right there but that all that is is to show you if I can do it no matter who
14:00the hell is listening with this right now they can do it too they just need to reach out and get
14:05that right help you you’re just sharing your lived experience AR you you’re saying actually this is what I this is
14:12what so you’re allowing them you’re allowing them to actually vent to vent and see the thing is a lot
14:20of coaches think that they’re not allowed to actually put their emotion into it okay I’m gonna I’m gonna give you a little simple thing if you if
14:26you’re your face is in water um say you’re in there for half a minute
14:31you’re obviously going to be dreaming you wish you had some air man oh man I want some air I want to be able to breathe I can’t breathe okay take your
14:38face out of the water but now if you want your dreams come true all right I always tell people the 18inch rule put
14:44it from your head to your heart all right if you want as bad as you want to be able to breathe in that water you put
14:49it from your head to your heart and then you put your dreams behind that emotion yeah if you got an emotion behind that
14:55dream you’re likely going to achieve it a little faster and and it’s going to be more of a appealing to
15:02you it’s it’s so true isn’t it well I remember one of the things I often say
15:07to people when they’re stuck that I can’t do it is say try res saying that with it’s not important to me and see how it feels you can always get them to
15:14watch The Poon Hill you always get them to watch thick and Grow Rich or the movie The Secret yeah it helps change
15:21people’s thoughts around there’s a guy that I’m going to be introducing you to anyways uh he’s one of my students and
15:27and he always done things his way for the last several years now he’s been my client for a few times yeah he always
15:33done things his way finally this way he said listen I’m willing to do it your way I said what happened to all the
15:40other ways that you were like you like he would even interrupt me and just continue with his own words so this time
15:47I told him I said I’m not going to take your money unless you’re gonna listen yeah straight out you know I mean like
15:53and he knows I’m tough I like I strail forward I will tell the person I mean hey this is what needs to be done I was
16:00taught I was like literally Les Brown I’ve been on stage with him I’ve been on stage with all these people like hip-hop
16:06preacher Eric Thomas on stage with him Greg Walker all these people I’ve been on stage with all these top people on I
16:13it just it was weird how it happened I started off going right to the top and staying at the top you know my first gig
16:21of being on stage was with Les Brown and Bob Proctor and that was sandwich between them it was the wildest thing man I mean
16:28like it was it was I got off lucky on that um it was the right moment right time and then it just built my career up
16:34because the image of me being on stage with these two guys I had to actually live that expectation now so then later
16:41on down the road guess what I end up coaching Les Brown’s daughter for four years wow now that was amazing you know
16:49coach his own daughter like a legendary guy like him I’m coaching his daughter
16:55and then now this is why you know like I get in Forbes telling me that I’m a legendary person I never thought i’ would be a
17:01legend ever I never look at myself as a legend I just look at the fact that that you know I’m there to help people I’m
17:07there to put myself out there to inspire people to help build their brand I love branding people you know I’ve won
17:13Guinness World Records with people and I I only reason I was sicker than a dog I had Co back then I was throwing up
17:19monkeys man like I it felt like I was coughing up a monkey and I had pure blood coming up I should have been in
17:24the hospital but my word was I’m going to help you guys win this G as world record
17:29once that day was over I went to the hospital and I stayed there 10 days they said you’re lucky to be here but my word is my word and I will
17:37guarantee you my word if I can’t if I if I put a program out there and I get people to pay me $25,000 for the year um
17:45you know in a certain program up to $150,000 a year depends on the program they chase right if I tell them look I
17:53will get you to 50 Grand if not I’ll continue to work with you free until you do that’s going to be a little bit more
17:59different than okay just pay me I’ll get you 50 Grand if you don’t make it well you don’t make it you I mean you want to
18:06inspire the person you want to give them a solution to their problem you can’t just leave them hanging at the end I got
18:13I got their programs right out and I I show them like hey this is not working this is not automated this is not
18:19working here this is not working here why aren’t you doing webinars why aren’t you doing podcasts why aren’t you interviewing certain people why aren’t
18:26you giv them more of an interaction you know what I mean yeah because I guess it’s you because
18:31you’re being driven by your passion and your passion to to help people to be the best that they can be then actually that
18:38becomes it’s amazing what we can do when we’ve got um a passion that sits behind something and you can overcome obstacles
18:45that you just can’t you can’t imagine the the alternative and it’s always because your
18:53purpose is so great in in that one area I remember being in intensive care a few
19:00years ago and um the doctor I said to him like when are you going to let me out because I’ve got a little girl at
19:06home and she’s not done more than one night away from me he was like Madam I don’t think you’re getting out you don’t
19:12understand I looked at him I was like no you don’t understand I’m getting out of here and you are going to let me and all you need to do is tell me what I need to
19:17do to be the person that picks her up from nursery and I was really lucky three days later I was let out and he
19:25said I I don’t understand how you got he like saw your x-rays how you got your body to go from that to this in three
19:31days I me really simple my little girl needs me so my passion my driver meant
19:37that everything else didn’t even thought of and I think that’s kind of some of what I got what I took away from reading
19:45people like Napoleon Hill and and Florence Scoville shine and um and think
19:51it’s that you’ve got to have a purpose that’s bigger than the fear of not achieving would you say that
19:59SP here’s the thing if you if you’re fearing something you’re on the right track um if you feel like you accomplish
20:07that and not fearing anything anymore then you need to keep fearing something else if you’re the smartest person in
20:12the room get the hell out of that room um speaking of being in the hospital I mean I I’m GNA tell you something this
20:18this really geared me up and made me feel really really good now I got some close friends like Kyle Wilson Jim Ron’s
20:24X business partner I got uh Jim Ron not Jim Ron uh Jim Jim de Seas of Jim Ron
20:31X that forgot his name now holy cow um
20:37yeah anyways someone else someone else out there yeah Jim not Jim j I’ll get
20:43back to that one okay he’s he’s the uh executive producer of thick and gr Rich
20:48okay all right and he he actually fed me up on the phone and said listen we need you and I said why do you guys keep
20:53saying to me you guys are up the top why do you guys keep saying to me we need you right and and I and he says to me he
21:01goes well I’ll tell you the reason why is you’re the upcoming us so we need you to carry that name on for us you know I
21:09mean I said that’s really cool and then he look then he says to me he goes do you have uh a a vide tape there or
21:16something a laptop or something there and I said no and uh he says uh his
21:22name’s John chin by the way sorry John chin I was getting that mixed up with Jim Ron for some reason joh chin uh said
21:30I’ll I’ll I’ll fly down there in my private jet I’ll give you a laptop with thick and Grow Rich on it so you can
21:36watch it when you’re in the hospital and then I’ll leave I said what are you talking about I said that’s a long trip I said what how much would that trip
21:42cost you it goes about 10 to1 15,000 no big deal you’re a friend you know I mean I’m thinking well that is pretty cool
21:47for a guy that level I mean you know for a guy that level recognizing me even
21:53Kyle Wilson phoning me up in the hospital I mean this guy coaches people like all over the world even even even
21:59uh even the even the guy uh uh Mr Colin there Colin from uh de leopard there he
22:05coaches him too the league guitarist you know I mean so I mean like he coaches some pretty high-end people and he gets
22:12on the phone just to make sure I’m okay I mean Eric Thomas gets on the phone makes sure I’m okay you know Les
22:19Brown’s daughter gets on the phone Mak sure I’m okay they’re fing my personal phone in the hospital to make sure I’m
22:25okay now this this the only reason why I mention that is because when you’re doing something in life you’re leaving
22:31you’re leaving something behind that’s going to affect someone in a different way you can either do that in a positive
22:37way or a negative way so if you’re going into a field and you’re just being negative about things and you’re cutting
22:42things up nobody really gonna want to work with you very much right you might want to switch that around and I was I
22:49was a very negative person coming in I’ll be honest with you I never smiled I I was always fighting like I was that’s
22:55what I was doing I mean I fought for the bikers right you know I kicked IND doors and collected and whatever I did to do
23:01and it was the worst today I mean hey I’m not going to change the thing in the world I did the past you know I mean I
23:06had people Dy in my hands I you know it was an awful experience but I won’t change anything that happened in my past
23:12because my future is what I am today and now I love who I am today it’s because I
23:17have so much passion to help other people and Empower other people I can get them there now it’s
23:24like people sit there and say well how do you win against world record that’s simple now I know how to do it you know how do how do you do this now how do you
23:30get on tedx that’s simple everything’s simple to do you just got to learn the right tracks to doing now most people
23:36I’m going to be honest with you most people they say well it’s not paying my bills so they got chase the money so
23:42they’re chasing the money they forget the foundation they forget the structure of their business and and when Co came
23:48they all started crumbling why because they didn’t have a foundation they didn’t have a structure
23:53when mine mine when mine hit the magnetic entrepreneur honestly even people from the UK and everywhere all
24:00over the world were coming to me ask me hey I need to build this business online now I need to publish a book I need to
24:06do this I need to do that I put an extra zero on the end of my paycheck literally it was it was
24:13amazing but because you got the and it’s so often the case isn’t it if you get the basics right and then you use that
24:20as your solid foundation to to grow but the basics aren’t always the most fun
24:27you got to learn to craw before walk and people just think you have to walk first yeah and I think we see these we we see
24:34these seeming overnight successes but they’re not a lot of work a lot of effort a lot of my overnight my
24:40overnight success took me what 20 years but that’s it is that consistency
24:48is the sweating the small stuff making sure that you’ve got the right uh the right processes in place the right
24:54infrastructure the right um elements together they just see it’s a lot of branding right it’s a lot of branding if
25:02if you’re sitting there saying okay you’re Robert J Mo you’re going out there and and like I’m wearing regular
25:08shirts and I I won’t wear a tie I’m not a tie person I’ll get down stage I’ll wear a nice shirt nice pair of pants but
25:14I mean I’m not gonna wear a tie I’m not gonna exceed that expectation for you to an image for you to put on because I
25:20don’t like ties I don’t like anything around my neck I’m not going to go to Walmart my PJs either that’s my brand if
25:26I go to Walmart my PJs that’s people are going to see me differently why I’m not going to go to food banks either why am
25:33I not going to food banks I’m not going to go to these places where you get secondhand clothing either why am I not
25:39doing that because I don’t want to be seen as that person I want to be seen as the person that’s actually empowering
25:45helping other people out and that’s able to able to get the job done professionally not sit there and say oh
25:52I’m doing it this way and then all of a sudden I’m going to the secondhand store getting myself some clothes it doesn’t really look good doesn’t look like
25:58you’re making any money doesn’t look like you’re doing the right thing doesn’t you’re putting a bad image out there yeah I think I mean they say don’t
26:06you that you’ve got to live like you’re already there um as in the person you go
26:12you go I don’t believe in fake it till you make it I believe that you have to chop up the circle in order to start it
26:17right yeah I mean like there’s if there’s a circle there and you’re banging your head against that wall well
26:22stop bloody well putting the wall there you know move your head somewhere else put on a pillow
26:28I mean like whatever it may be I mean you have to break that cycle you’re not going to break the cycle by doing over
26:34and over and over again by doing the same thing I mean a lot of people say practice and you’ll get it well the
26:40problem is if you’re practicing the exact same thing you’re gonna get the exact same results yeah yeah change it a
26:45bit change it up try different solutions well I think that’s it I mean
26:50the one thing that’s constant in in all our lives is change isn’t it and therefore what worked yesterday will
26:57need to evolve to work today and it doesn’t always need to be completely changed but we need to make sure it
27:03remains relevant that otherwise we we stop growing and I think that’s
27:10the that’s the point that we’re all supposed to be we’re supposed to be growing we’re supposed to be learning
27:15we’re supposed to be um being better you I say to my little girl the only the only job you’ve got in life each day is
27:22to be a better version of who you are than you were yesterday um whoever that
27:27is I’m not going to shap I’m going to tell you what that person needs to be but just make sure you end each day
27:33thinking today was today I was a better me than yesterday I learned more I understood more able to help
27:41more well that’s it’s the biggest thing I mean that people are always watching you I I don’t care what you say I mean
27:47if you’re doing podcasts if you’re doing things out there and you’re doing things on the internet um if you’re automating
27:52things uh no matter what you’re doing people are watching and believe it or not there’s something you say that’s
27:58going to hit someone down the road um like I’ve I’ve done podcasts that
28:04affected people like you would not believe I’ve never knew I could attract these people before and they’re the highest people in the world they come on
28:10they private messaged me and say Hey listen I like what you said today you know like wow was that really you was
28:18that like did you really just comment me and that made me feel good like how how do you know who I am like I little guy
28:25in the pond and you’re messaging me so or another they’re seeing a message that you’re putting out there and I believe
28:32it’s it’s intentional from God God’s directing them to hear that message because they need to hear that message
28:38that day and it just so happens is bringing you guys together you know what I mean like it’s it’s that’s how I met
28:45Bob Proctor I it just right out of the blue he messaged me said something went
28:51from there and you know started moving on from there and then then I met up with his son Brian you know what a cool
28:57cat he is you know I mean I people don’t realize that certain people have legacies in
29:03their life that if you just pay attention to what they’re doing don’t do don’t be exactly like that person okay
29:10yeah go get 1015 people learn from those 1015 people I studied 21 people in my
29:16life 21 people I studied in order to be here today I only took a nick of this
29:21person Nick of this person Nick of this person Nick of this person put it all together built the person I am today and
29:27way we go right right like I mean you could only do what you can do I love that but it was about that
29:33looking to learn isn’t it and see what what bits do I do I like what bits do I not like well my mapping I I call mind
29:41mapping so you got the Mind map here mind map here so say hypothetically Tony Roberts what you do that hear how why
29:48all the W’s right all the H’s at the same time then you sit there and say okay well you’re mapping it who does he
29:55serve what does he serve like how many people people he tracked is he tracked online Do’s he tracked in person you
30:01know I mean you sit there and map at yourself how do you how do you compare to that right so you look how you
30:07compare to that and how you’re doing things differently and you know you want to visualize yourself in that scene but
30:13the thing is you don’t want to be him you don’t want to take his personality you just want to take on the fact that how he’s doing it the concept of how
30:20he’s doing it so incorporate some of that Concept in there it’s just like certain people if you listen if you’re
30:26down out you really want to make money I’m GNA tell you a simple way right now real simple way get a hold of these big shots ask listen can I be an affiliate
30:33for selling your tickets being affiliate to sell some tickets will get you sometimes 10 five five or 10% of the
30:40sales if you got a big name like uh Les Brown or you know Tony Robbins that do
30:46you really need to sell that ticket no the reason why is because it sells itself people don’t need to know who you
30:52are in order to sell a ticket they already know the person so basically all you’re doing is just here put the there
30:58in that platform let people buy it right and then you get your commission later it’s an easy way to make money and and I
31:05wouldn’t say I would keep it as a a job but I mean if you do at least you can go big and you go hardcore on it and go to
31:12a lot of different people that are big yeah so if you could go back and give
31:19your younger self any advice what would it be um get my younger self
31:28I I I couldn’t I couldn’t give my younger self any because you know what I wanted obviously it was meant to be the
31:34way it was meant to be it was when you look at the situation
31:39I was homeless for a reason I was in out of jail for a reason it it was to teach me a
31:44lesson if I sit there and change that pattern who would I be
31:50today think about it so if I if I go tell myself something different like hypothetically I go back today travel
31:56back and say do this do that that could screw my whole future up
32:02yeah I can see that I guess for me I’ve always there something thing I learned
32:08later on in life that I kind of wish I’d learned earlier on is everything in it
32:13is either a lesson a blessing or both so if I don’t feel blessed I should look for the lesson because that’s where the blessing is and that wouldn’t change
32:20anything it wouldn’t change any of the experiences I had but it made sense of
32:28for me I’ve had I’ve had the mother of my children die in my hands um die given birth I’ve had three
32:35of my brothers die you know I mean both my parents are dead um it’s been a hard
32:40life thing is those lessons kept me strong so listen I I’m gonna mention
32:46this right now when you ask God why why are you putting me through these hard
32:52raffle Waters and these waters are rough why am I going through this at this period of
32:57time in my life and when the reaction comes back to you by sitting there saying because your enemies can’t swim it makes a lot of
33:05sense you know I mean so go through those Rough Waters it’s sweeter on the other side identify what’s going on and
33:12a lot of people like I’m like I said I going on 19 years clean silver I don’t I don’t want you going down that road of
33:19being a drug ad alcohol person that you know hides our emotions try identify who
33:24you are who you want to be you know I mean if you are if you’re already into it you want to learn a little bit deeper
33:30you really want to deeply learn who you are look up California firststep it’s
33:35got 300 questions on there it talks about who you are as a child adolescent
33:41adult talks about your parents your grandparents talks about your business I mean everything that you think of it it
33:47molds it into one and basically you write it out on paper and you’re supposed to tell another person I don’t
33:53care if you’re telling another person that you know may not even listen maybe they got headphones on you’re just sitting there saying it out loud you
34:00know what I mean and then throwing in the fire bit but what it is is basically you’re getting it off your chest you’re
34:06getting it out of your system and you’re feeling more comfortable with yourself that’s really all it is so I mean like I
34:13I’ve done all this stuff in order to make myself a better person because I didn’t like the person I was I was so
34:19angry so I’ve done all this stuff to make me feel better and and now I’m able to help other people out like I’ve
34:26helped people out for years now for last 10 years I’ve been going pretty strong with helping people out and the thing is
34:32I don’t go to people they come to me I mean that’s because of your lived
34:38experience and the fact that you know you I think sometimes that’s what we want we want
34:44to we want to learn and often well 90% of the people don’t know my
34:50past did you know that 90% of the people don’t know that I was you know in and
34:55out of jail and all that I honestly guy when I brought that documentary out and people were learning
35:01that I was in that jail they said we’ never seen that we never seen that coming they just see me as someone
35:07that’s achiev achieving all these goals and the problem is that they’re
35:12like oh you you’ve always been this way so what would you know about this that’s
35:18the reason why I started coming up with my past like because I wanted people to understand like I’ve been there too I
35:24can identify I mean there’s sympathy and empathy there’s there I mean there’s two different things there if you’re doing sympathy sympathy
35:30is one thing you don’t want to take away someone else’s emotions all right so you got empathy
35:36and sympathy so hypothetically say this is the box of clinics and you’re sitting there crying the other person’s crying I
35:43might just go like this just push it towards you just to show you that the clinic is there I’m not going to take
35:48away your emotions from you because I want you to identify those yeah yeah same with business I want you identify
35:53the things that are going on with your business but if I take those away from you you then I’m carrying on that burden
36:00and you don’t need to worry about you just keep making the same mistakes yeah I we don’t always know I
36:07always think when people say I know how you feel well you don’t know how I feel um not asking me how I feel and I don’t
36:13know how you feel I might have been through a similar situation but I don’t know how you feel that’s yours um I can
36:19share the space with you so that you’ve got company whilst you look at it and whilst you understand it but as you say
36:27it’s there you can identify certain similar similarities to it but not the actual event and you can you know I I
36:33can’t begin to imagine how you feel I know I’ve been through something similar but interesting what you said when people don’t know your past you I had a
36:41I had a similar experience where I’ve I actually did it for a friend he for part his business he uh wrote my um life
36:49story in in 60 tweets and I did a video for him of it and I got people reaching out and said I’m a thousand times more
36:55likely to work with you now and because of that video and I like why why is that they said before we assumed that your
37:02life’s just run perfectly smoothly and you’ve never hit a bump in the road or any challenges um because that’s what we
37:09perceive today and I was I I don’t think anybody’s life runs smoothly with no bumps in it we
37:15just we’ve just been taught to not share those well when I when I put a picture
37:20up uh last year um this this year it’s a mutual friend of yours or mine exm boss
37:27from the UK K there we won’t say his name but uh when he came to Canada him and I were together and we had we had
37:33pictures together and people were like robbert we didn’t know you knew the mob um you know like well what’s the
37:39difference Who would know yeah the point is that I’m doing well today um and I
37:45was actually his publisher for his book and that’s the reason why we met up we didn’t meet up because we’re looking
37:50everybody thought well here’s here’s the guy that that was striking before here’s an xmob bus what are these two up to man
37:56we we got to watch watch out I mean no it’s nothing like that yeah yeah when we say X XX I mean it’s like your ex
38:04girlfriend man they’re behind you yeah I mean we’re not there to discuss okay we’re gonna do a bank robbery we’re
38:10actually there to discuss how we could do better things to help other people out that’s the best way to do it it’s so
38:16true isn’t it it’s that you I always thought we’re not we’re not a product of our sorry we’re not a victim of our
38:21circumstance we a product of our choice um because there is always Choice yeah you make a choice there for sure there’s
38:28always choice and and if we make the wrong one and I share this with my little girl all the time you if you make a bad choice that doesn’t serve you the
38:35beauty is you can make a different Choice straight away a choice isn’t permanent it’s you know something that
38:42we can we can evolve and change from you know you just brought that right to my attention that I want to say this
38:47because a lot of people make the wrong choices don’t make a permanent solution
38:53for a temporary problem I see too many people do suicide
38:59I see too many people make the wrong choice um they want to throw themselves
39:04off the bridge or they want to hurt themselves or somehow affect other people because they’re going through a
39:09temporary situation don’t make that wrong choice remember that that solution will
39:15temporarily go away it’s a temporary situation that you’re going through if you need to get the help for the mental
39:21health or whatever may it is for that period of time get the help do not make
39:27a permanent solution for that temporary problem that’s such a good point and
39:32actually one of my guests that I’ve just recently had on she was able to share how the education program she’s done
39:38saved eight separate women from suicide because it got them at the right time and gave them an alternative solution
39:46for what turned out to be as you say Robert a temporary problem because they’ve overcome I’ve helped a few
39:53people with uh some suicide situations I’ve helped um mostly I’ve helped people
39:58with The Grieving of their their partner yeah there was a lot of times I help there was I was more of an emotional
40:05person I dealt with their emotional stuff and that’s probably what made me harder and thicker skin um because I
40:11used to wear my heart on my sleeve when I was addiction counsel and and the problem is I I wasn’t making any money
40:16doing that and when I was not making the money doing that what happened was I was
40:22putting myself in a bad position right hold on someone’s at my
40:28door what I was doing that I was doing a bad position I’m on I’m on a live right
40:39now
40:4560 okay I get the my hit kids s me
40:53$60 I guess you got a part you gotta cut out you’ve got a me my little girl often
40:59wonders in or as you’ve already seen the dog sometimes here this one here be 19
41:04no 18 tomorrow oh wow she’ll be 18 years old tomorrow she don’t go mom she don’t
41:11go to Mom she goes to Dad my my six-year-old don’t go to mom goes to Dad you know they they they they no side
41:18their Bread’s buttered on well I mean I’m kind of like the strict one in the house my wife just
41:25lets them do whatever they want but honestly um I I am strict as a father
41:31too especially with my I can’t go to the park I can’t go to the park with my kids
41:36because if I see a kid bullying my kid I’m gonna go right to their parents and deal with it I mean I know what I’m like
41:41I I’m I I I have to work on that but I mean at the same time I just choose not to go to the park with them and don’t
41:48get involved in activities like that because I know it’s like going to barber’s chair you go to barber’s chair
41:54long enough you can’t get a haircut yeah yeah you I mean what’s the primary purpose of going to the park is to have
42:00fun but when someone’s bullying your son and that’s irking you let your wife take
42:05the child to the park I think it’s I think it’s learning isn’t it how to take yourself out of the situation that’s um
42:14that you know isn’t isn’t eventually isn’t gonna isn’t going to end well this girl right here she asked me before she
42:19asked me she goes dad can you teach me how to shoot a gun I said I got rid of all the guns she goes why’ you get rid
42:25of all your guns I said because you got boyfriend’s coming over and you’re getting older she didn’t she didn’t understand
42:31that one bit no no I I I totally got that I remember when my brother had his
42:36his daughter he decided that um and from the age of he told me when she was just
42:42born he said from the age of eight until the age of 35 you are not allowed to go out with her on your own I was like
42:48brilliant I I told my daughter I said we’re locking her in the closet thought she 35 I was like by that point I’ll be
42:54about 90 I think I’m allowed to get out but I got I got six kids away wow I got I
43:01got a 32y old a 31 year old a 28y old uh the one that’s turned 20 she’s GNA 18
43:08and then the other one six now two of them two of them aren’t not myological but the the other four
43:13myological children wow that must that must be a great
43:20source of Pride um to see it is but the problem is I don’t I only see two of
43:25them I only only see the two that I’m bringing up here the other ones I don’t talk to I’m a grandfather now I I’ve
43:30never bet my grandson never my lifestyle that I lived I have to look at the how I
43:38affected other people too yeah yeah you know I mean my son if you ever get a chance to see my
43:45my uh documentary he talks in there he talks how he used to
43:51um sit there and all right on my dad was a gangster my dad was a gangster it was
43:57really cool you know like you used to this is cool now hey how many people have got dad as a gangster to do this
44:03and do that you know my dad will come down kick your dad’s ass or whatever kind of thing and but now he’s a police
44:10officer W and he doesn’t want to kind of he knows I changed but I think he’s
44:18having a hard time accepting that change see that’s a problem too something in life even when I become clean and sober
44:25I’ve had people that would love me around when I was drinking the minute I got sober they couldn’t stand me they
44:31didn’t want me around my own family members didn’t want me around because
44:36they were so used to me being putting the fear out there to people you know I mean like I would I would do things that
44:42people would be unpredicable now it’s like now it’s like well this isn’t you yeah it is me it was
44:48me the whole time was just barricaded underneath all that pressure so I mean it’s it’s scary scary
44:56to think how it really affects other people I I want to put out something if
45:02you go midle London middle anywhere anywhere you want to go to a park the busiest area in the world that you could
45:08think of put yourself there put yourself in a chair don’t say a word to anybody
45:14just look around look how this world just keeps people are moving around doing their own thing nobody’s paying
45:19attention to you now you realize that the world is working with or without you
45:25yeah yeah right so that’s how important you are when nobody’s saying hi to you what are you going to do about that
45:32for people to recognize you there’s the difference now I had a choice I was on the front covers many times like this
45:40yeah arm robberies tempted murders whatever but guess what now I could be on the front
45:45cover like this which way would you rather
45:51be I that I think that is a great place to to wrap it up it really is a
45:57demonstration that you are constantly able to change your choice and to find
46:04one that better serves you and better serves the people that you come into contact with Robert it’s been an
46:10absolute Delight as always um I look forward to our next conversation and
46:15until next time thanks for listening I appreciate you having me take care
