How Technology For Good Is Transforming The World | Influential Visions Podcast
According to Sharena Rice PHD, tech for good is transformative because it has the potential to help people be their best selves. She believes that if we demand that companies create products with this goal in mind, we can see a world where technology helps us instead of hinders us. Sharena sees potential for technology to improve our lives in many ways, but she is also quick to point out that any one of the foundations that tech is built on (philosophy, science, and technology) is shaky, the whole system falls apart. This is why she believes it’s so important that we have a clear vision for how we want tech to improve our lives before we allow it to become a part of our everyday lives. Only by doing this can we avoid the pitfalls of tech addiction and ensure that tech is used for good.

Tech For Good Blog
Technology has the potential to do a lot of good in the world. It can help us to automate repetitive tasks, make communication faster and easier, and connect people from all over the globe.
“Tech for good is best described as when an organisation uses technology to take on big social and environmental problems to improve communities and lives.” Big Lemon
Technology for good is everyone’s responsibility
However, there is still a long way to go before everyone has access to these benefits. According to recent estimates, only around 52% of the world’s population has access to the net.
My friend Sheri R. Hinish said this recently: “I used to think the top environmental problems were biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and climate change. I was wrong.
I thought with 30 years of science we could address those problems.
But I was wrong.
The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed, and apathy, and to deal with those we need a spiritual and cultural transformation.
…and we scientists don’t know how to do that.”
Digital technology has the power to change everything
Technology has so much to offer. It can help us to automate repetitive tasks, make communication faster and easier, and connect people from all over the globe. But for these benefits to be enjoyed by everyone, we need to make sure that everyone has access to the net.
USA GLOBAL TV & RADIO PRESENTS AUTHENTIC ACHIEVEMENTS STARRING DR. JACALYN KERBECK & KIM-ADELE RANDALL, FEATURING FIONA DEMARK,
In this episode we are delighted to be joined by Fiona Demark, an inspirational speaker and resilience coach who moves participants from not achieving the results they are capable of, to inspiring positive change in both your professional and personal lives. She provides practical strategies that make a lifelong impact upon participants.
As Fiona shares “What makes me unique and stand out from every other executive trainer and keynote speakers, is that I am legally blind. Having a disability since birth has taught me that life can be a challenge, but ‘when life gives you lemons, make lemonade’. By meeting challenges head on and constantly stepping outside my comfort zone I have built resilience and learned how to keep moving forward through adversity. I would love to share this knowledge with you and look forward to speaking with you further about how we can work together to make this happen.”

My Thanks to Rita Mistry and Rebecca Fox for inviting me to be part of this inspiring event and for the amazing feedback.
